Top 100 Wonders of the World
Okay. This guy has been making, and apparently updating, this impartial list for the past 30 years. It's what he feels are the top wonders in the world. He also has a list of the top 1000 wonders in the world.
What do you guys think?

I just took a quick read thru it and it had some good info on safaris. Am planning on going thru and reading about his top 100. I may not agree with the ranking, but write up on each on looks informative.
I agree! Great link - thanks!

Wow, I've been to 18 of those. I would not have guessed that it would have been that many, but I do pretty much agree with the list (at least what I've seen of it).

long way to go but i'm happy with what i've seen.

I have been to 14 on that (wonderful) list.
However, the stuffy matron in me would like to remind folks that, in my humble opinion, travel is NOT about checking off sites on a list.
(what exactly 'travel is about', I dunno, but it certainly ain't some sort of contest)

I am a 20 of the top 100. Not too shabby. Still a long way to go though!
Oh yeah, Easter Island should be higher than #18 too.

Hmmm. I've only seen 7 out of the 100, and only have interest in seeing about 7 others. Seems like he is very into man made historical places. I would like to visit many of the countries he speaks of, just wouldn't go out of my way to see those particular sights.

Interesting list. Though I can't say I agree with everything that he's listed. The Leaning Tower of Pisa? The Vegas strip??

well..
It's obvious that countries which are more or less issolated or non-popularized in some way, don't have much places listed (or aint got any).
while the most silly places like Zoo's or aquariums are writen..
for example, there are no UNESCO listed monasteirs from Serbia and Montenegro on the list, and many less important churches and ruins are listed.
The Skull Tower (made by Ottomans, who made it from 952 skulls of Serbian warriors, who have died for liberation the city of Nish, in 1809).
Bay of Kotor and the old town of Kotor, not listed, and listed by UNESCO, too..
Grand Canyon of Tara.. did you know it's the worlds second biggest, just behind the grand canyon in the USA?
Old town of Mostar.. Old town of Jajce. (bosnia)
Lakes in Plitvice. (croatia)
And my top suggestion for top100 could be Lepenski Vir, an archeological site. For ones who haven't heard about, it's the site of the oldest European civilisation, just on the right bank of Danube river, between Serbia and Romania. It's a ruined village, old more than 7000 years, with many sculptures and tools found from that age...
And the oldest written scripts in the world are founded there. They are dating between 5 and 9 thousand years BC. Which is much older that egypt's hieroglyphs, or summerian letters...
anyway, great list, helps to remember places to visit in a future
