This is a really funny story. I can totally see this happening. Luckily they didn't have too many beers at the pub that night!

LOL
That was excellent. Once many moons ago, when it was legal. I took a hop from Frankfurt GE to Detroit MI. We got diverted in air, to Ankara Turkey. We were stuck there five days explaining how we got on a military base, signed up for a hop, and ended up in a miltary base in Turkey.

My brother use to jump trains all the time in the US.Once he showed up with a friend on my mom's middle class doorstep ...both black from being on a coal train.Oh my,what will the neighbors thing.

To top that he stowed away on a ship ( turns out it was a Russian ship)months later with the same friend & they did not discover them til they were far out to sea. Can't remember how they got back but they did without much problem ( just stressed my mom as she is the one who got the call that he was far out to sea from some authourities Wink.

He had the best stories & also rode a bike criscrossing this country several times ( not to mention wild stories from Eu,Hawii & south America).

I am always doing that
which I can not do,
in order that
I may learn how to do it.
