Traveling Community With Children

We are a family of three, including a three-year-old daughter, who have been teaching English as a Second Language in China for more than four years. Teaching ESL is the perfect job for the traveling lifestyle. We can find a job nearly anywhere in the world on short notice and have a comfortable lifestyle. It is great for a single person traveling the world, but we feel like our daughter needs a stable community of other adults and children.

That is why we are trying to connect with other families who are either traveling, or else thinking about taking up the traveling life. In May we are planning to go to India and meet one other family, but we hope to meet others. Our ultimate goal would be to form a community of between five and fifteen families who all travel together as a single group while helping to raise and educate each other’s children.

There is still obviously a lot of work to be done. We do not have all of the answers and we hope that each family will contribute their own viewpoints and opinions to the group discussion. We believe in an organic discussion rather than a static list of rules.
