Hey guys, I'll be doing some time in Central America, mainly focusing on Nicaragua, but plan on visiting Honduras, Costa Rica, and Panama.

My initial goal was to try and set something up to explore a small portion of Bowsawas NR. Its been many months of emailing, calling, and chatting and it hasn't turned out like I was hoping (I really did think my plans were realistic). I do have something set up, but not quite what I wanted.

Anyways, I've done some researching about multi day hikes in Central America and have come across a decent amount of good info.

but...if anyone here has recommendations please do tell. If any contact info for guides or outfits cn be provided that would be appreciated as well.

PS: I don't plan on spending to much time in Costa Rica. There is a hike or two I'm going to do, but I have already been there before.

Many thanks,

Well, my experience is just two trips in the Petain so am no expert butif you check out flores as a departure point, you can then go by collectiveo to Carmelita then get a guid and some horses and trek on into Nakbe and el Mirador. that will take almost a week and put a 100 miles under your belt, then from there you can find other trekking opportunities with inspexpenisve guide services in Flores, like another one I took for three days and only $300 was a river trip, camping by the river, then an inldand hike in to some ruins, whcih were not so hot, but the entire experience was pretty neat, or go Northwest from Flores to the cuchamantanes and the cloud foreste, then hike some volcanoes around Lago de Atitlan, Plenty to keep you busy for awhile.
