No, I meant more along the lines, can I go there alone and find a tour to hook up with? Is that hard?

Yep, my blonde looks are troublesome. Maybe I should shave my head? Eek

I need to investigate this more. Any ideas on where to start?

Of course good ole google is good.

Then check the forums for Indiamike.com ...i think there is a whole section on trekking there.

Maybe Donovan (our resident Boots adventure expert) might have some leads.

If you are going on a extended trip to India I would say go and find a company there. I know that there are some reputable companies in Manali and Leh and usually you can find out just taking to travelers on the circuit.

Nah don't shave it off...in India one shaves their hair when you take a vow and offer your hair to god at a temple. Men have to shave when the father dies. Shaved head will attract plenty of its own attention and questions.
