Any essential Trinidadian experiences? I will be there from March 10th-17th. Thanks!

-Make sure you load up on Roti, every day. All the foods in Trinidad are amazing, but roti is addictive.

-Afternoon tea and birdwatching at the Mount St. Benedict monastary.

-Chagaramas National Park

-Coroni swamp/mangroves boat tour, at sunset, to see the scarlet ibis returning from Venezuela.

- ASA Wright Bird Sanctuary

- Steelpan performance - ask around to see if you can catch a good one. It is incredible what good ensembles can achieve. A 10 or 20-member steelpan orchestra is not the same as a lone person playing in the NYC subways.

I am NOT a bird enthusiast - no species lists for me, and I would never sit for a day, hoping to spot yet another rare bird. But, the above places are stunning and really worthy of a visit.

Tobago is a 20-minute flight (or less) and is wonderful.
