Hi guys which site have you found to be the best for uploading photos onto? I've looked a Shutterfly and Webshots both seem pretty good. Any others?

Also will i simply be able to upload photos through USB or will I have to download software first from the website (which i doubt is allowed on public computers)

Any thoughts? Advice?

I use www.fotopic.net, for which you'll need an FTP program, or upload in small batches using IE. How many are you likely to be doing - a few best shots, or everything?

I use www.fotopages.com It is free and you can use it as a blog if you want. Only downside is that you can only upload 6 pics at a time, so if you have a lot to upload, it will take you a while. There is no software required.

Warning: some people post soft porn on this site. It may not be appropriate if you don't like that sort of thing, or if children might access the site (it has a top pages summary, and as everyone clicks on the naked people, these pages are often rated high. They will also show if they were the most recently downloaded pics. The site is trying to crack down on this, but you still see it.)

Just a comment: I have found that upload speeds can be very slow, and that some internet cafes don't even allow uploads of full rez pics because it bogs down their connection. I guess it all depends where you're going, and how many megs you want to upload.

Anyways, I haven't tried it, but I thought smugmug.com looked interesting.

I am using a photojournal travel site and am happy with it. I can upload unlimited photos for six months, and others can ofcourse view them.

The speed of upload seems to be reliant on the connection speed ofcourse and the type of USB plug in. Both are hit or miss around the world, and hi-speed USB plug-ins are real rare.

I'm new to the whole digital camera thing and I was just wondering how you go about uploading pics directly to a website. On my PC at home, i had to download them onto the computer first, then transfer them to a website. And do most internet cafes have computers with the ability to let you upload pics directly to a website? Also, does anyone have any experience using and getting prints from either Yahoo Photos or clubphoto.com?

I use pbase.com

They charge a little bit ($23/year) but you can create lots of photo galleries and add comments and change the style of display. I had a hard time finding a way to add comments and subtitles and this website lets you do all that.
