Hi Folks:
I'm looking to aimlessly meander around southern france near the coast by sete and just north of their for 12 days around the 13th of August. I'd love some insights to cheap rentals, communities, excellent beaches, CS folks, beautiful and special places to get lost in.
Thanks,
Craig

Vagabonding In Southern France

From Sete you are just a little more than an hour from Millau, the Gorges du Tarn river valleys, the Larzac plateau, the Roquefort cheese area. There are trains from Beziers and the ride is beautiful. This will be a completely different landscape from SETE if you want beach and vineyard, rows of fish restaurants. But you'll get a good rest after the heat and crowds. Hiking, canoeing, very good eating, cycling- the whole area around Millau is varied and beautiful. If you do go, don't miss the view from 'Le Point Sublime' above Les Vignes on the Gorges du Tarn road. Depending on your budget, you might want to try out surrounding villages (St. Rome du Tarn/Le Rozier Peyreleau/St. Felix/ Nant is a quiet place close to everything)
Just a suggestion. Bon Voyage.
