Vic Falls (Livingstone) to Dar Es Salaam?

Postby Ingridsheila » April 5th, 2008

Anyone know of a safe and cheap way to get from Vic Falls (Livingstone) to Dar Es Salaam? Is the train really unsafe because I've heard of mixed reviews...

Safe and cheap? I can't say anything is exactly "safe." The biggest safety issue you will have is buses that drive way to fast around blind corners, etc.

Take the bus from Lusaka, Scandanvian Bus line.

Or take the train, first class.

How do you get from Dar Es Salaam to Lusaka? So there is a train from Lusaka to Dar Es Salaam? Would you recommend the train or bus?

I was on Scandinavian Bus Line and think it was quite nice and comfortable. Though I was on the route from Nairobi to Kampala. I am certain they also offer route between Lusaka and Dar es Salaam.

However, since it may be the most comfortable one for this route, it should also be most expensive. Check their website for price quote and schedule.

As to Livingstone to Lusaka, I think there is train...
