Vietnam Visa in China?

Figure out the best place to stay on Khao San Road in Bangkok and where to escape when you've had enough of the mayhem. From Singapore Slings to the changes in Bejing after the 2008 Olympics, gab about it all here.

Vietnam Visa in China?

Postby corduroykid » June 21st, 2008

Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a Vietnam visa as a UK resident while in China/Hong Kong? I'm just in the process of applying for a new passport and don't know if I'll have enough time to send my passport to the Vietnamese embassy London once it arrives, as well as get my Chinese visa. It would be much easier if I could get it in Hong Kong or Beijing, but not sure if this can be done.

Thanks

You may be able to get one on arrival, but I would contact the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing and find out for sure. Here is their info...

Tel 010-6532 1125
Email vnaemba@mailhost.cinet.co.cn
32 Guanghua Lu 100600

There is also an embassy in Hong Kong
Tel 22-591-4510
15th floor, Great Smart Tower, 230 Wan Chai Rd., Wan Chai

Good luck Smile

You can not get visa upon arrival in Vietnam unless prior arrangements have been made, which means your application or invitation from an eligible body in Vietnam must be approved before departure.
It's better to get one before departure. For the addresses of the Vietnamese Embassies/Consulate Abroad you can

Have a nice trip!

Yes, you can get your Vietnamese Visa in Beijing. It takes about 4-6 days, 350 yuan, and you'll need to fill out inbound travel information on the form. They don't seem very responsive to phones so I'd just go there.

Embassy of Vietnam in Beijing - China
No 32 Guanghua Rd., Jiangou menwai, Beijing, China
Tel: (86-10) 6532 1155
Tel: (86-10) 6532 1125
Tel Consular: 6532 7038
Fax: (86-10) 6532 5720

Can't remember exactly but I think they only take visa applications in the morning, Monday to Thursday. There might be an automatic message on one of those numbers.
