This is something to really keep in mind when you're driving at high speed through the bush or desert:

Yeah, and not even evidence of the speed this poor blighter was going, and just bad luck that the kangeroo was pushed into his path - by look of damage, could have been a big one.

Meanwhile, in the bush, It's also easy to get lost so also plan well, and best to not go off bushwalking alone.

I did the whole buy a car thing and drive the east coast. My car was also my plane ticket home. The kangaroos scared me, hitting one would have left me stranded - not an altogether awful scenario but unwanted all the same. I drove at night once and was a nervous wreck.

Luckily, I sold my Ford Falcon in the same condition I bought it in and for more money, and returned safely to Ohio. Crap, what was I thinking?

Makes you wonder what on earth some people are thinking when they wander off in the woods.... and the guy brought his mobile phone? I worked in a state park once and on occassion people would call us and say they were lost on the trail. We'd ask them where on the trail they were and what it looked like. They generally said they were by a lot of trees and really had no idea where they were. Thankfully, the trails all led out eventually, some were just longer than the people planned.
