Hey fellow travelers. I am headed to South America in a few months and I was kinda kicking around the idea of filming an independent travel show. Something pretty wacky...but hopefully still beneficial for others to watch and learn from our mistakes. Of course...all I have is an idea and no equipment or background in the film area. Anybody have such a background and already planning to get lost in South America for 4-6 months?

i had that idea aswell but nothing really happened from it. the easiest way would be to get a digital camera that lets you make movies until the memory ran out at at least 640x480 and then just put them all on youtube.

I like the idea,lets talk more about it. I will be traveling in Patagonia for almost one month (February 21st) Starting in Punta Arenas heading north.. When are you planning to be in S.A. and where?

I'm arriving in Rio on 23rd feb 07 and planning on wandering around SA for about 8/9 months.

I have no background in filming or equipment except for a digital camera that takes movies?! But aounds like a cool idea, let me know what you decide to do!
