I was told it was downtown but I can't seem to find any parks downtown that could support a canopy walk.
Any help appreciated.

I haven't done this but saw it on a flyer last time I was in Vancouver. Next time I'm up in this beautiful city, which will hopefully be soon, I plan to check it out. You can find more info at this link.

I'm going to be doing that next week sometime when I'm there. There is a suspension bridge in Capilano Park, close to North Vancouver. The bridge is 230 ft in the air and 460ft long. They also have a tree top adventure, which is walkways etc.

I've been to Capilano many times and it's definitely worth a visit. Very scenic, informative, and fun. You should also continue on up the canyon to the fish ladder and hatchery, stopping along the way to pick and eat your fill of blackberries (if in season).

There are also tree-top platforms up at Whistler, as well as ziplines strung up in the canopy that you can go on year-round. Haven't done that, but it sure sounds like it would be fun. Sorry I don't have a link, but just Google "Whistler Ziplines" or "Whistler ZipTrek".

Actually the Tree Canopy walk is in Capilano Park by the Suspension bridge, in North Vancouver.

I was there in August. Smile

The Tree walk in Whistler is amazing an it's not too far from Vancouver if you have a car.
This site has info. on Whistler and Vancouver:

I realize this might be a late post to this inquiry, but I wanted to give a precise answer: the canopy walk in Vancouver is indeed at the Capilano Suspension Bridge. It's call Treetops Adventure, and it is an outstanding experience.

It takes you on an exciting walk through the actual forest canopy, dozens of meters above the ground.

There's more information on their website page at Capilano Treetops Adventure

It's a great experience, and I highly recommend it for all visitors to Vancouver!

I just did this about two months ago. I too was underwhelmed. The bridge itself is impressive and fun to walk across but the tree top experience was more like a touristy carnival ride than an adventure/eco travel experience.

Its worth going for an hour if you are in Vancouver but I would not plan a trip around this one experience.

BTW - this park was easily reachable from downtown vancouver using public transportation. I took the ferry to N. Van then a bus right from the ferry terminal dropped me off right at the bridge. I little further up the road on the same bridge is a good ski mountain (Grouse?) with night skiing, a gondola ride up, and views of Vancouver.
