So has anyone worked with this company? In short, as a native English speaker you teach your knowledge of English for free room and board. Actually, you don't really teach, like grammer and all, but you have conversations with the students with no Spanish spoken at all! So as you could imagine the program is based only in Spain right now.

So does anyone have any experience with this? What are the requirements and how was your experience? Does anyone know if they'll actually have Italian programs this year?

Daniel,
Have been twice---La Alberca and Valdelavilla venues in Spain, 2004 and last year 2006. Loved it both times.

Requirements? Like to talk. Like to talk to different kinds of people, and have an interest in different cultures. Be extroverted. Not afraid of making fun of yourself. If you like to know how a culture works, how your culture compares to another, how we are different and how we are similar---this is for you.

How was the experience? Great. The Spaniards were interesting, and, once loosened up, were really fun. The Englsh-speakers were interesting also---from English, Wales, Australia, Canada, U.S., Ireland, South Africa.

We are planning a thrid time this year, hoping to do the Italian site. They are wanting people who have done the regular Spain programs at least twice, so that will reduce the throngs trying for the few weeks that they may have.

I agree with Jackie. I did it recently and it was one of the best experiences of my 15 month travels around the world. I had so much fun and you really get to know one another--something rare during travel. We have all remained friends and even had reunion already.
DO it--it's amazing!

Same! One of the best things I'v eever done. I think they've got a program in South America that I will for sure try out once I get there.
