So i go up to my local shops after work on a Friday and in the bottle shop they are selling Bintang. Then i go to the fish & chip shop and it smells like Bali because it has the little incants thing.

made me reminisce.

Nice experiences.

A friend of mine from Hawaii told me about the last time he went back there. At the local supermarket he bought toilet rolls, cigarettes and toiletaries. The price was $40. "I'll give you $10." he said.

Many 'Bali moments' stay with us and crop up unexpectedly.

Amazing how a smell can transport you - the smell I associate most with Bali is the smell of the clove cigarettes some Balinese men smoke. My first Bali trip was in the 1980's, then again in 1990, but when I was there last year I noticed that this smell was not as prevalent as the previous times....maybe these cigarettes have gone out of fashion. My girlfiend who accompanied me on the last visit says its the smell of the cooking that takes her back - the yummy coconut milk / rice smell. God, I wish I was there now!!!!
