I used Geko dive for my open water cert, & am returning to do the advanced open water cert purely for the confidence I have in them. I also found them to be reasonably priced, but they never allowed me to keep the manual (maybe this is why?), so I got my own manual from ebay when I returned.

hi rob would like to know more as i am considering scuba diving as a second career option.
I have also traveled the world with minimal so that i can visit other countries as well. So it is cut throat budgeting that i need to take care of.

Hi, AquaMarine Diving Bali are a very well respected diving company and one I can thoroughly recommend, they can be found herethere offices are near Made's Warung 2 in Seminyak, the website has all there contact details.

Not only do they offer PADI training courses they also do diving safaris and can organise everything for you including trips etc if you have a non-diving travel companion.

Sorry if this is sounding like an advert for them, I’ve used them on a number of occasions and they are very good, affordable and do what you want to do.

with regard to the open water student book, comment above, any decent diving training company will make sure you have your own copy for you too keep after your training. how on earth can you be expected to remeber all what has been taught?

how about your dive plan tables were you given your own set?

yes. The table was a part of the log book.

I cant say one company was better than the other, I can only say that for my first time underwater, I felt confident with Geko.

I guess it depends on exactley when you did the open water course with them, but since last year it has been mandatory that all students have their own Open Water Divers Manual.

all the PADI Diving centres I've worked have always included the divers manual as part of the training.

I got my open water certificate on Nusa Lembongan with Pro Dive. I was very happy with the experience and the dive sites around Nusa Lembongan I felt were a good way to start.

Hemang feel free to use Google and spend as long as you like researching the dive centers / sites in Bali.

Only an experinced diver can give you all the information about diving in Bali. I suggested contacting several dive companies and ask for thier tips, suggestions, rates etc. Generally you'll find dive operators with offices in Kuta / Seminyak / Sanur / Nusa Dua. Prices are cheaper is you go direct ot the dive sites (Pemuteran, Menjangan, Amed, Tulamben, Nusa Lembongan.
