I am going on a 2 month backpacking trip to Europe and have been doing a lot of research on backpacks. I have narrowed it down to a few and I think my favorite one it the Kelty Storm 3600. I was just wondering if anyone has this pack and if so they could list the pros and cons.

No direct experience with this pack, but there are some reviews here:

I don't think that you will be as happy with a top loading pack as you will be with a panel loader. I would suggest that you keep looking, and I would also suggest that you choose a larger pack.

Panel vs top loader is a personal choice. Joe(static) vehemently supports the panel loader while I must have a top loader. Then again I have arms the diameter of toothpicks and can easily dig through my pack while keeping everything inside it. Its my hidden talent. Anyway sit down and ask yourself whether it will be easier to travel, pack and unpack, dig around to access anything without unpacking with a toploader or a panel loader. Also collect everything you want to bring with you. Put it on your bed. Can you comfortably fit it all in to that pack? Imagine packing it blindly in a dark hostel; afraid you're missing your bus. If you pick up anything along the way that you just can't live without, will you be able to fit it in?

I vote for the smallest pack possible but do so realistically.

When Callilucy and I eventually marry, we will only have panel loaders in the house.

That's fine- you can keep your panel loaders in the house. I'll be out travelling with my top loader. Razz

When are the nuptials, my dear?

I have the kelty storm 3600 and it's a good pack, the one complaint I have is that the shoulder straps tend to rub on my shoulders some and the back padding is thinner than some packs but it holds a ton of stuff and it's pretty ruggedly built.
