Flying to Mexico, want to go to Cuba, Guatemala, Belize and then to Venezuela...

Hi, kicking off a round the world trip in March. At the moment we've got a flight in to Mexico City. We want to be in Cuba for Easter, would like to see Belize & Guatemala and then head to Venezuela. At the moment this is looking like a very expensive thing to do. We're thinking we're going to have to fly to Cuba via Cancun, then back to Cancun to go to Belize & Guatemala. To get from there down to Venezuela or any other South American country seems really expensive (around $500?). So if anybody has any experience or suggestions of what best to do, we'd really appreciate it!

There's a lot to see in Central America. Why don't you work your way down to Panama City, and hop on a boat for Cartagena? Do you have any time constraints?

hi
all over the caribien coast in mexico you find flights for 200 us $ maybe less maybe more to fly from cancun to cuba. all included for 4-6 days. i was in quintana roo 6 months ago so i can not give an exact price. but it is pssible.
honest, the boat trip seems to be a nice experience which felx suggested.
the most expensive part will be the cancun area and if you hop a few days more north as mex. city.
have nice one

Don't know about those flight prices to Cuba though. In 2001, I flew Cancun-Havana for $200 return, including tourist card for Cuba. Checking around in December, the cheapest fare I found for the same return trip was $350 in Cubana.

If you want to fly from Guatemala to Colombia, the cheapest place to fish for tickets is probably Antigua. gatito, have you seen any good deals at a place like Sin Fronteras there?
