I recently became a vegan and this December I'll be making my first trip to Europe as a vegan. What's the foodscape like for vegans/vegetarians? I'll be visiting Paris, Bruges, Brussels and Amsterdam. Any recommendations?

Paris I found it easy too, but haven't been to the other places you mention. But on the whole I find Europe caters well for Veggies and Vegans.. a recent week in Las Vegas had me searching menus for non-meat dishes.. ended up at Subway almost every meal time!

That sounds like good news. You're right, the US is a meat-loving country and it can be hard to find a good vegetarian restaurant unless you're in a city like New York or out on the West Coast.

You should be ok. I have a Vegan Passport which I got from the Vegan Society and I think it's a really good idea to have with you, unless you speak Dutch and French very well already. There are actually entire guidebooks put out for veggies, but I think it's more fun with just the passport (but I have an easier time since I waver between vegan and vegetarian a lot).

should not be a problem at all. Maybe a little trouble in Eastern Europe (outside of the big cities).

Just don't go to McDonald's whatever you do!! LoL...they are pretty hopeless when it comes to Veggie Food...
