I'm obviously one of the many who's blog got whiped clean. I found the page with the old entries but didn't have time to copy and past them. Now I went back and tried to do it again and they are not there. Please, please please...help me find them. The money and time that went into that is way more than I want to discuss. My brain does not have the capacity to remember what i wrote either. If you can give me another option to retrieve them I will be forever grateful.

This thread doesn't have any tags.

You can still check out the tag index though.

What are tags?

Bgagnonius,

All of the pages that Google has cached on your site can be found here:

http://www.google.com/search?q=site:http://blogs.bootsn...-23,GGGL:en&filter=0

For those that have had the Google cache update their homepage, you can do a search of Google for http://blogs.bootsnall.com/USERNAME - substitute your username in place of USERNAME and you should see most/all of your posts.

You may have to click the link at the bottom of the page that says: repeat the search with the omitted results included.

This thread has been helpful, but I'm still having problems accessing my blogs. I can get the first part of one of them, but the rest since August are completely gone! I can get to a page where I can see the links with the titles, but when I click them, it tells me they do not exist. Please help me, it's just devestating if they've disappeared forever!!!

Where did you find the page with all the links? The problem is that the links on the page will try to take you back to the boots page where the article no longer exists. You need to right click and "copy link location", and then go up to the address bar and replace part of the line (the part that read blogs.bootsnall.com/blair/) with the copied text.

The problem now is that many search engines, google and yahoo included have updated their caches with "new" version your site, which, unfortunately is the restored version from the August 17 backup, so I couldn't find your more recent entries at either of them.

My turn to find out if my Sept entries are gone forever. I tried the google cache and it only came up with my posting from today-10/2 and then back to 8/16. I've been out of touch in smalltown Aus and didnt even know this missing server crap was going on until about 10 minutes ago. Am I fekked? Please help if possible Chris. Thanks.

Is it still possible to make a post with a full size photo as lead in. The directions make it seem like it is possible, but every variation comes out as a thumbnail w/without a link. I like to lead into a section with the money shot.

Any helps appreciated.

Also, is it possible to have a custom designed header instead of a pre set one.

Thanks
Steve

As a quick update to this issue, if you're looking for any images that were uploaded during the period of time where entries were lost we have a page where you can go day-by-day and see all images that were uploaded by all blogs and find the ones that are yours.

Blog images page Aug 17-Sept 22

It may look like there are two versions of each but one is a thumbnail and the other is the full size version. You don't need to upload the images to your blog again, just copy the image URL (right-click, 'copy shortcut' or 'copy link location') and use the 'img' button above your entry editing screen in your blog admin to add the image to your post again.
