What is the best country in Africa?
Nazma
I have visited a couple of places in Africa and I think that the best country I have toured so far has to be Morocco. Can anybody share your opinion or experience about best country of Africa?

Wouldn't really be able to say until I've been to every country in Africa

Asking someone what their favorite country is sort of like asking them for their favorite kid- you can't really answer because you love them all in different ways.
After about ten countries in Africa (all but Egypt sub-Saharan) the one I'm most eager to return to is South Africa as it was so diverse in cultures, geography, history, wildlife, you name it, and I felt like I could spend twice as much time there as I did in actuality.

I vote for Morocco, too! Really beautiful, stunning country. I have relatives who have lived there for a few years. They are in love with Morocco and made me love it even without having been there.

I've only been to 3 African countries, so can only choose which I liked best from those three. But like Andromeda said, how can you pick just one! Every country on the planet is unique and offers something different and appealing. Having said that, I'm involved with an orphanage project in Benin and have spent almost a year there combined, so my vote would have to go to it! I love Benin. I also think that perhaps since Benin was my first experience outside of North America and where I've spent the most time in the "developing world" that is holds (and will always hold) a special place in my life.

At the moment, I´m in love with South Africa. I´m living here for now and still discovering it. I like it because the outlook of the people is more modern than most African or Arab places I have been to. People are fairly open and accepting of all.

Wow Africa what can you say it is so vast and I've only traveled to a few countries so far but the ones I've enjoyed visiting are these.
Egypt for the Antiquities the sights and smells, just take it all in, we had such a great time sailing down the Nile and seeing the world go by.
Kenya, we stayed in a small town on the coast called Watamu for 5 weeks right next to the beach. It was the most perfect location we hired small sailing boats snorkeled to the reefs went out with a local fisherman for the day and had a wonderful time relaxing after a 7 week safari. The people are extremely friendly hard working but in the main very poor.
South Africa was a surprise, Cape town is very Western and modern city although there are shanty towns on the outskirts were thousands of people live in poverty. We rented a car and traveled along the garden route staying in small budget hotels and hostels along the way, an interesting and beautiful coastline and well worth the travel.
Namibia, sand and more sand, walking on the dunes is a fantastic experience, there's a great coastline and some lovely towns to visit on the coast.
Loved Zanzibar Island the beaches are magnificent.
Wow the Masai Mara is a must, we saw more leopards cheetahs and lions in groups here than anywhere else.
If your thing is seeing the wonderful wildlife which is in Africa in abundance I would advice taking a camping safari, you don't have to pay the earth and you really get to see and be part of the amazing National Parks and Reserves. We traveled from South Africa to Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Zanzibar Island, Kenya.

Depends on what you like to see or do. Having been lucky enough to see much of that continent I can tell you that there is so much variety, that in a way, you can't go wrong. From South Africa's great beaches and game parks, to the Kalahari Desert and the Okavongo Swamps; Victoria Falls and the world's highest bungi jump, Lake Malawi, Lake Victoria and the headwaters (still undiscovered) of the Nile; the Rift Valley, Kilimanjaro, the islands of Madagascar, Zanzibar and Lamu (my fav.), the incredible Serengheti, Kenyan and Tanzanian game parks, numerous volcanoes, the railway built by the Chinese across the lenght of Tanzania, which if you wanted a real adventure you could link up to the Congo River and do an east/west trip across the continent that only a handful of people in the world have done (more have climbed Everest), Egyptian pyramids (acessible by city bus on the outskirts of Cairo), Luxor and the Valley of the Kings, Isreal, the Sahara desert, and Morocco who others have mentioned. Oh yeah. The other consideration might be your budget. have fun.

Well I should seriously see more of Africa before I even say what my personal favorite is (only been to South Africa and Namibia) but so far Namibia has captivated me. I think it's a combo of the stunning landscapes, wildlife and easy safari access, incredibly friendly locals, and the feeling you get on a road-trip there that everyone is looking out for everyone else. It was pretty much perfect

I once visited Botswana and enjoyed it a lot. There were many animal watching resorts and other cool stuff. Once you’ve been there you’ll never regret it.

I agree that Morocco and Zanzibar (not a country) are nice. However, Uganda has to top the list. Amazing people and a beautiful country. I love this country more than so many others.

For me, it would probably be Egypt. The place is just filled with so much history and beauty both ancient and the modern grace.. The place is just stunning not to mention the things you can do can do in the country from touring the renowned pyramids and ancient temples to riding of the notable cruises in the area.. My Egypt experience was overwhelming considering the many things that I've learned all throughout the trip.. The people were welcoming as well as the accommodations that I had making my experience even more meaningful.
