....I've got the highly uplifting 'Where Do I Begin?' by The Chemical Brothers playing in the background as I trawl these boards and get all dreamy-eyed about my forthcoming trip...even if it is still some distance off!

What about all you excellent people? Big Grin

Brilliant! I knew you travely BNA lot would be an eclectic bunch of souls. Rock Out

Anyone have a particular track that either reminds them of their travel experiences (or a particular time during them), or a song that perhaps inspires you in your ambition to travel/keeps you focussed on your trip??

I have many. Love listening to anything on Lost Horizons by Lemon Jelly (on the ol' jukebox as I type Big Grin )

Anytime I hear 'Galvanize' by Chemical Brothers, I'll remember the internet cafe in Fira, Santorini, where it was blasting very loudly. Takes me back to Greece!! Smile

Oh, and at the moment I'm listening to the Garden State soundtrack - Thievery Corporation's 'Lebanese Blonde.'

There are soo many songs that bring you back to beautiful moments from your travels.

Well this past summer I took trains and busses across the US coast to coast. When I was riding thru tennesee, Virginia, and my whole time in Philly I was listening to Ray LaMontagne. So that one brings back a whole plethora of crazy memories.

When I was in NYC I was out barhopping in Brooklyn with someother guys from the Hostel, when we heard a really good alt-country band being played at one of the bars. I asked the bartender who it was, and it turns out that it was his band, Matty Charles and the Valentines. As I inquired more as to his musical influences, he gave me one of their CDs that he happened to have on hand. So now whenever I listen to it I am wisked back to those drunken nights in Brooklyn and the lower east side. Who would have thought that country music could make you nostalgic for New York City? And then I wound up listening to that same cd as I rode from NYC to Vegas, so it basicly reminds me of any given spot in America.

So I am still listening to that stuff right now.

Well actually right now i am listening to "This desert Life ", which reminds me of moving to so-cal and all of the travelling and drifting i have done up and down the coast.
