Depends. On business, aisle seat. I love to fly, and if we're going over interesting terrain, I'll ask for the window.
Flying overnight to Europe in winter, get a window. With any luck, you'll get to see excellent auroras. On the return trip, often at daytime, you get to see icebergs, and depending on your route, a glimpse of Greenland.
Americans traveling to Asia, note: always ask for a window on the starboard side. There is no sensation confirming that you have left the continent quite like seeing the Bering Strait slip away beneath you.
On the other side, Russian Chukotka is a moonscape without trees or any other sign of life. The coastline is chiseled, forbidding, and utterly ungiving to the needs of man.
Where do you like to sit on an airplane?
