Istanbul is spread over 2 continents...are we there?

Here's one last look.



DING DING DING! Istanbul it is. Well done, Cristina!

The exact place we're looking at is the breach in the city wall where the Turks invaded in 1452. It was actually repaired at one point, but the 1999 earthquake destroyed the 20th century work, leaving the 5th century original in tact.

I used to live just past the bottom of the picture here, in a scary ghetto known as Karagumruk.

With all those switchbacks, it looks quite hilly, yet there are a lot of roads. Are we somewhere in North America, in the Appalachians, perhaps?

They look small for Rockies -- are we in Montana? I think I remember the mountains being lower and rounded there.
