Where's the Party At?

Postby Michael C » February 21st, 2008

My favorite vacations have been those long ones with a bit of everything - culture, adventure, wilderness, history, spirituality, and decadence. The kind that start with an all-night rave in Mykonos and end three weeks later in Istanbul's Aya Sofia.

I love Montreal's Black & Blue and Sydney's Mardi Gras, and I make it to an American Circuit Party about once every two years. They're fun, but tend to be in icky places like Orlando, Palm Springs, or Vegas. You get the party, but there's nothing of interest outside the party.

So ... what's going on in the rest of the world? Are Goa and Ibiza gay friendly, or fun for the 35 & up crowd? Or are they more Euro-trashy South-of-Thailand kind of places? What cities or places can you all recommend for a fabulous international lost weekend?

Sao Paulo is Brazil was really gay friendly and the parties go on all night there. Really surprised me after months in South America (friend I made in Peru didn't know what gay meant).
