Figure out the best place to stay on Khao San Road in Bangkok and where to escape when you've had enough of the mayhem. From Singapore Slings to the changes in Bejing after the 2008 Olympics, gab about it all here.

To answer your season question, I'd have to say that for the most part seasonal issues won't stop your travels or enjoyment. If you want to go some places, but it's supposed to be the "wet" season there... I say go anyway. Less tourists, it can't possibly rain ALL the time, and you still get to see and do everything you wanted to. Bring a small umbrella. Problem solved. 8-)

As for specific things to do in all those places you listed... :google:

Hi, Asia is a spiritual place infused with the gods of past and present: the ancient spirits of the land and the family, the deities of Buddhism and Hinduism and the rules of Islam. Architectural wonders and sacred spaces abound from the Great Wall of China and the temples of Angkor to lesser known marvels in Myanmar, Nepal and Afghanistan. Have happy trip!
