I didn't know where to put this... so I thought Student Travel was lookin' a little sad.
Airplane tickets are BOOKED! I am ready to head to Asia! Here's the routing (it's pretty ridiculous):
Sunday, February 13th:
Depart Toronto 6:05 am
Arrive Washington, DC 7:35 am
Depart Washington, DC 11:15 am
Monday February 14th: (Valentine's Day!)
Arrive Tokyo 3:20pm
Tuesday February 15th:
Depart Tokyo 10:45 am
Arrive Seoul 1:20 pm
and then...
Monday July 11th:
Depart Beijing 2:50pm
Arrive Tokyo 7:00pm
Tuesday July 12th:
Depart Tokyo 11:10am
Arrive Washington, DC 10:40am
Depart Washington, DC 12:30pm
Arrive Toronto 2:05pm
Plus, apparently there's a really good chance that since the stopover in Tokyo is involuntary, the airline will give me a free hotel room. They have some sort of crazy policy of two free hotel rooms per ticket based on involuntary stopovers. *shrug* If not, I found some priced for like, $60 Cdn. around Narita airport on the Internet.
Final Price: $1459.84 Cdn. Including $5 mailing fee (stupid Expresspost) and $44.28 cancellation insurance.
Eeeeeeeeek! I'm so excited!
Woohoo! Tickets BOOKED!

I'm under the impression that Seoul is one of the most expensive Asian cities. Still, though, the university (and the student who went before from Dal) said that we can easily find full meals around $2-$4 US around the campus. It's cheaper to eat Korean than to eat Western food, and if we want to go to the on-campus cafeteria it's even cheaper.
I'm on exchange, so I'm not too concerned about room rates and things around Seoul. I'll be spending only one or two nights out of the dorms in the city (when I arrive and when I leave), so I'll only need lodging while travelling around.
Okay. I'm ready to go NOW. But I suppose most people feel that way after they finally book their flights.

I bought my tickets through TravelCuts, a travel agency owned by the Canadian Federation of Students. They have offices and a contact number in the States, too. They're awesome at getting good flight prices, and you don't have to be a student to use their services. It's a better fare than any of the online searches had.
